More Kash...

Here is my girl, Kash!
My brother, Todd picked her up at the bus station in SJ and took her to FBC so she could go to the Youth Retreat in Lower Sackville NS. He and Kasha were getting together for the 1st time in a long time and had plans to have lunch. Todd took her to the beach and took some pics... So, I'm sharing with my friends!
My brother is very talented when it comes to cameras for which I'm very thankful. He even helped out with Lance's grad pics ~ what a sweetie!

"the crossing guard"

I remember well my first day of school right down to what I was wearing. A red plaid skirt with criss cross straps, a white blouse, black patent leather shoes. I sat on the table to get my hair done while Dad chatted with me and asked if I was gonna be a good girl. I was afraid and was sulking a bit. Dad took out a shiny nickle to buy a treat for recess. I did get a sucker that rcess didn't give me enough time to eat and I was absolutely mortified that the teacher suggested I throw it in the garbage... :s I put it in my desk, yep, stuck to a book and all... ~ugh~

The real memory I wanted to write about happened later in the week, Friday, I seem to recall! I was walking home and crossed St James St in the middle, between cars even... And here he comes and I smile ~ "Hi Kevin, I go to big school now and it's dinner time"... He wasn't the least bit interested, he just continued to write in his pad. I was a bit confused, until he got done and said he was "reporting me to the office for JayWalking" :s I said "you're my cousin" and he said 'I'm a crossing guard today and I have to report you"

Well, needless to say I didn't go to school that afternoon ~ I sobbed so hard, I worked myself into a frenzy and ended up missing the afternoon. My first day of school missed... I don't remember what ever became of it. But since then, I've always remembered the jaywalking rule! ♥

***that's my memory of Kevin Hayes as a crossing guard***

Twenty ~ five cents worth?

I was walking down the hill from Avery's and found what I thought was a nickle. I ran back to Avery's corner store and slapped it up on the counter and knew enough to say "mixed up candy, please".

I don't recall my age but I was about 4 or 5 yrs old. The clerk asked if I "wanted twenty five cents worth" To me, they were huge words, I just wanted my candy.

When they continuously threw candy into that bag, I thought she would never stop ~ my eyes, I'm sure, were like saucers... I had a 10lb brown bag almost full to the top.

I skipped all the way home and of course, it was seized by the authority (my mom) to last a good long time and share with the other kids... That was one of the rules as the oldest but seem to not apply so much to those who came into the family later.

But I promise, I'm not bitter! ;) ♥

I went crazy...

And got my hair cut...

This is the front

I'm planning to go shorter in the back but I wanted to go easy this time and maybe ease into it!

Knock, Knock...

Feel like playin'?

I was having a great day or was I?

This is Maisy ~ doesn't look like she could be trouble, does she? And below, is her treat I left for her to chew on...

Early this morning, very early this morning (5:45 am), my husband is awake and I know he tries to be quiet and he is...
REALLY!
Alot better these days than when we first married.
Back to 5:45, no it's now 6:30 am and yes, I laid away the whole time but now it's time to hit the road. Cliffton starts his shift at 7 am and the hospital is about 15-20 mins away and all that depends on Tim Hortons! Well, away we go and I get mine and we share it and Cliffton gets to save his for shift report! I don't mind, I can go home and make a huge pot (after pot, if I choose).
Anyway, I finally get home and put the coffee pot on and do a number of other things as Aunt Sheila is coming for a visit. Oh, I remember I should be sitting down to do my devotions but I don't and have no excuses...
Soon it's time for me to run off to the grocery store to pick up something to munch on when Aunt Sheila comes. I get myself together and run to the car, jump in and turn the key....
Only to hear...
~RRR~RRR~RRR~
Man, I left the lights on ~ oh, why does HE put them on anyway??? HE, meaning Cliffton, who started the car. We just had this conversation...
Needless to say, I wasn't going anyway and now had a new delima. I needed to find a neighbor to help and the only neighbors I have, are out for the first time this week! :s
I get a few other things done while waiting but still considering the nonchalant walk to the neighbors house. Why the indifferent walk? They have 2 good sized dogs, the newest is Towzer and he the biggest, meanest, rottie I ever laid my eyes on. He's not but he doesn't know me and all he will do when he sees me is bark! But as I walk to the door, I can only see Princess and she's lovely and what's more, she likes me ~ well, I do give her a treats...
After beeping the horn, calling out, and continuously running back to my porch and then giving in and asking Kash to come with me (and 2 treats in my hand), we ventured over. This time, Towzer surfaced and started to bark and I literally started to run home! Yep, I did...
Cora, my neighbor heard Towzer and came to the door this time. Ahhh, all I could get out was "I need help!"
Kash just looked at me!
"you don't say"
Cora and Dustin helped and I was on my way after thanking them. Kash and I enjoyed company, garlic fingers, and pop. Around 2:40, I had to take Kasha to work for 3 pm. Any other time, I'd take the dog but it's been warm and I had a free tanning session and didn't want to leave her in the car... Here's the wonderful surprise I had when I got home.

Just yesterday, my devotions was a reminder to start the day with the Lord...

~sigh~

Despite my putting my devotions off, the Lord gave me an opportunity to give a tract out! ;)

He's always good!

Is this rotting snow?

Or is it just plain dirty?
In recent years, I've heard it described as "rotting snow"...
I googled it and this is what came up!

I ♥ my bloggin' buddies...

I have had more good belly laughs over the past week...

I really appreciate y'all!

Thanks for the chuckles!

A bit of heritage...

Grammy & Grampy Green

The picture taken in a photo booth ~ date unknown

This is my Gram's parents stone in Hartland NB ~ my husband is working at the hospital in the Hartland area and I've gone looking to see for myself. Unfortunately, the Hartland cover bridge (the largest of it's kind in the world) is shut down for repairs. I can see the area, the church, the campground near the river but the roads are shut down til nicer weather ~ yes, I'll return! My grandparents are from the Perth Andover, Plaster Rock, etc areas.

My grandmother's family came from Ireland when she was a teen and she was from a strong Catholic family. While sitting in the yard one day, she noticed a neighbor lady hanging out clothes. This particular woman was singing hymns and choruses and was always full of joy. My grandmother asked her why she was so happy and the woman told my grandmother the gospel! ;)

My grandmother brought her family up in the Lord and they were faithful. I've heard that my grandfather was saved too but I've never heard his testimony. I got closer to them after I was older and even closer when I got saved. My grampy was sick then, after suffering a stroke so we never did chat, the way Gram and I did!

My happy pills...

I've been cutting way back on carbs and sugar but I have to tell you, I got really cranky!

Eveyone noticed and I had to admit one night at supper, I was close to tears...

So I went to Shopper's Drug Mart and bought a huge bag of jelly beans for $3.99 ~ they are in a baggie under the driver's seat at this present time.

There is a fresh handful whenever I'm feeling a little tight...

~ahhhh~

They really calm me down and make me feel

REAL HAPPY!!

Trouble with falling ice...

Yep, we have a metal roof here in Woodstock NB

I tried to warn the landlord but he didn't think it was anything to worry about...

***keep in mind that this is a raised porch sitting at least a half story off the ground***

I mean, he couldn't have done anything about it this year anyway, but I bet he's thinking about what to do for next year now!
~eek~
6-8 spindles broken on the porch and it came down with such a crash ~ broke the clothes line, bag of pins and I still haven't found my shovel.
Praise the Lord, I could be looking for a neighbor!
~ugh~
