My brother...

This is Keith, the first of my siblings (I didn't know what I was in for). We are exiting the Police Dept after finding him. Yes, he had trapsed off on his own ~ that must have been before my mother started tying him to the door step. I know, she'd be hauled into court so fast today, it would make her head spin. But think about it, we used to fight to stand on the hump in the back of the car and lay down in the back window, etc. Seat belts???
In case your wondering why the sour face on me... Do you see what those police officers bought him? Yes, a bottle of coke that is larger than his lower body and he's not giving me a drink! He is just so proud of that bottle ~ I think it's his first one ever!
I have to share the story with you about when he first came to live with us. Yes, they brought him home to stay! I'd been an only child, getting all the attention not only from my parents but from anyone who visited. As soon as he got there, all attention was turned to "the baby". All I remember hearing was how good he was, 'he never cries'... I don't know why I would do this, I was a year and a half... but I went in to the crib and I bit his foot/toe and covered up the evidence... Oh, he was crying now... and I did it a few more times... I was getting away with it until he needed changing. I can remember peeking out the crack behind the door ~ there was no getting out of this spanking!
That was the one time that the punishment fit the crime ~ boy, did I get it! ~ouch~ And then the humiliation when my father found out ~ the look on his face was enough to tell me, he was very disappointed!
My parents brought home five more babies after that ~ I got used to sharing the attention and many other things. ~smile~

Burdens are lifted...

One time when Kash was a toddler, she and I were walking home from the grocery store with quite a few bags in tow. She was in the stroller holding onto one bag and there were many others hanging off the the handles of the stroller. Way back then I didn't drive...

We were having a difficult time and I mentioned to Kash that 'the Lord knew all about the trouble we're having so let's just sing and it will keep our minds off our troubles'...After a few songs and chorus', Kash belted out one of her favorites...

"Burdens are lifted at Calgary, Calgary, Calgary..."

A trip to the Saskatoon library...

We had to soon find one Kasha's favorite buildings so I asked Dad to take us on Saturday without her knowing. She was excited to say the least, ready to leave about 2 hours early. When we finally made it down town, the building was nice enough... We got out the identification that we had but all was from New Brunswick. the gentleman told us there would be some restrictions, only 3 items for me but Kash could take out 50... What is up with that???

The building had two floors so after rec'ving our library cards, we jumped on the elevator and to check out the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has children's books, a small art gallery and a huge section for music. I thought Kash was going to lose her mind. There were CD's and CD's of classical music, musicals, instrumentals and a huge wall of sheet music. She was so taken, she didn't know where to start and it was very evident. I had to laugh ~ I could see the obvious excitement... Kasha soon pulled herself together and checked out a huge book of sheet music and 4 CD's.

Anyway, besides that I got to go to the Eddie Bauer store, my personal favorite. I can say, I won't spend much $$$ there, they don't sell petites for short people. ~ugh~ But it was nice to just look at all the new styles coming for this spring/summer 2007.

An antique with meaning...

This is a ceramic plaque that I bought for my mother in 1974 ~ that would mean I was 11 yrs old. I saved my money that I got from babysitting jobs I got in the neighborhood. For months I saved to buy her this great b'day gift that I saw at Woolworths. Remember Woolworths?
It is beginning to look banged up. My mother passed away a year later and I've kept in all this time. I've always used it ~ I thought it would be safer/best if I kept it up then to pack it away. It was is immaculate shape when I first started keeping it, I lost many other things and why this piece has been around all this time, is a wonder to me. I had three wedding rings that I wanted to fix up for my two sisters and myself but we got broden into and they were stolen. ~ugh~ That has always bothered me!
My mother cried when I gave her this plaque and she wrote all the stuff on the back which only makes it more special. ~smile~

Here is my husband's Hockey Team ~ 1985

Cliffton is the fourth one in the back row. Funny thing is, his Dad was the coach (he's the second from right in the back row) and as I looked even more closely, I noticed my brother, Jason was on the team. He's the second most handsome guy on the team. He's the second from the right in the front. They were about 14 yrs old. ~wink~

Momma & dogs walking in Barnesville NB ~ 1998

Well, I'm unpacking and I have my work cut out for me today.

I found this beautiful pic my daughter, Kasha drew when she was 7 yrs old ~ quite the artist, eh? Everyday, I'd get snow pants, coat and gloves and the dogs (Sandi & Austin) would get so worked up. They knew we were going for a walk as soon as they saw those snow pants...

I'm glad Kasha drew this ~ who knows how often I would be reminded of those times! And they were great times in Barnesville. ~smile~

My first time driving in Saskatoon...

~yikes~ I drove Cliffton to work this morning. I drove 5.9km from the hospital. It was great and scarey all at the same time! If Cliff can't find parking, I'll have to continue. He had an awesome day today ~ he says information overload. I can tell he's excited. He hasn't been in that element since mid Dec 2006.

Maybe I'll get brave enough to venture to one of the many malls here and yes, get my hair done! ~yippee~ What a great idea! Now to find a hairdresser who really knows how to work a hairdryer ~ that's the ticket, you know! ~wink~

In His perfect timing..

~yippee~ Our furniture and stuff is expected to show up early tomorrow. What a huge blessing but not as huge as the blessing it is in realizing that God knows all of our needs and knows when He will provide...
I was sitting at the computer, comtemplating writing an email to a dear friend, who had thought by this time, we must have rec'vd our things. I prayed and asked the Lord to bring our things soon. We're just about stir crazy, watching way too much tv, eating too many treats, and maybe a tab bit cranky, yes, crankeeee, etc. One never knew how thankful one could be for a can opener, a potato masher, etc. God is so good providing even the smallest things for our benefit!
Just as I began to write, I heard the faint sound of a cell... There are 3 here somewhere, but then after 5-6 rings, it dawned on me that Cliffton had told me where ours was and to half expect a call from the movers. ~yikes~ Well, I did't think I could move so fast, so early in the morning (7:30am) ~ by the time I reached the phone, it had rang about 15x, surely, they would hang up before I found it... I reached for that still lit up cell... Hello, yes, yes it is... the movers! ~yippee~
So here is the empty place (before) and I'll post more when we get more settled in a day or two (after)... I can't do much in decorating, as we're just renting for now, but I'm sure you'll see a real improvement. I know we will! ~wink~

~yippee~

Our stuff/furniture is coming!

My Husband's Recent Graduation ~ Dec 22, 2006

My husband, Cliffton is receiving his diploma and other award. He graduated with an 81.5 average. In his wisdom, he reminded me of the fact, it doesn't matter if you graduate with a 60% or 100%, you will still receive the same pay.

All in all, we as a family are very proud of him ~ he worked very hard for 4.5 yrs. We're thankful that he trusted the Lord all thru his schooling. He's been a real testimony and encouragement to all of us!

We're proud (in a righteous way, of course) of you, Cliffton!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Prov 3:5,6
